Welcome to The National Medical Weight Loss Programme
Established in 2019, The National Medical Weight Loss Programme provides online CPD and SCOPE accredited education, exclusively to registered health professionals in the medical management of overweight and obesity.
We combine flexible online learning with world-class academic training written by an Expert Advisor to the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) on obesity.
Delegates who successfully pass the course, can promote themselves as a Certified Partner of The National Medical Weight Loss Programme
Expert Training
Experience in-depth and comprehensive evidence-based medicine, complying with all regulatory policies and guidelines. Our training will enable you to create a successful business model delivering a safe, legal and ethical medical weight management service.
- The course is delivered by Dr Matt Capehorn (Expert Advisor to NICE on Obesity)
- Our training programme is accredited by The Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE)
- There is an assessment to complete at the end of each module. Delegates must score a minimum of 80% to pass.

- On successful completion, delegates will become a Certified Partner of the NMWLP
- NB: Delegates will have private access to complete training for 30-days
- NB: A fee of £100 will be payable by any delegates requesting an extension of this time
- NB: A fee of £10 will be payable by any delegate to resubmit any failed modules.

Mounjaro
Weekly Injection (Tirzepatide)
- Mounjaro® contains an FDA approved medication called Tirzepatide
- Tirzepatide is licenced to treat type-2 diabetes and obesity
- Saxenda®, Wegovy® and Mounjaro® are the only licenced injectable prescription medicines currently available for the treatment of obesity in the UK
- A simple injection is self-administered weekly with an easy-to-use pen that is pre-filled with the medication
- Each box of pens lasts 4 weeks
Wegovy
Weekly Injection (Semaglutide)
- Wegovy® contains an FDA approved medication called Semaglutide
- Semaglutide is licenced to treat type-2 diabetes under the brand name Ozempic® and obesity under the brand name Wegovy®
- Saxenda®, Wegovy® and Mounjaro® are the only licenced injectable prescription medicines currently available for the treatment of obesity in the UK
- A simple injection is self-administered weekly with an easy-to-use pen that is pre-filled with the medication
- Each pen lasts 4 weeks
Saxenda
Daily Injection (Liraglutide)
- Saxenda® contains an FDA approved medication called Liraglutide
- Liraglutide is licenced to treat type-2 diabetes under the brand name Victoza® and obesity under the brand name Saxenda®
- Saxenda®, Wegovy® and Mounjaro® are the only licenced injectable prescription medicines currently available for the treatment of obesity in the UK
- A simple injection is self-administered daily with a dose-adjustable pen that is pre-filled with the medication
- Each pen will last between 6 – 30 days, depending on the daily dose given

The National Medical Weight Loss Programme (NMWLP) was developed exclusively to train registered healthcare professionals. Some examples of the professionals we train can be found below. CQC Registration
All healthcare professionals in England (other than pharmacists) are required to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to offer this service.
